Good News, More Grinding, Hang-ups

I'm feeling much less tired after getting some good zzzz's last night.  I made sure to write any ideas down, like what I was gonna do today and was able to fall asleep instantly.  Also drank some chamomile, lemongrass, ginger, turmeric tea...mmm.

As expected, Justin at Trailer Parts 4 U took care of things.  There's a replacement equalizer link, 2 spindle caps, and the spring kits with u-bolts leaving the factory today and arriving tomorrow, Friday.  Luckily they're out of South Carolina so UPS ground can actually take care of it that quick.  I thought it would have to be second dayed.

Done with circuit boards for the day, I'm off to the garage to do a bunch more grinding...

Got the spring hangers cleaned up first.  I brought my hitch mount vice and it fit perfectly into the metal horses, but was right about at eye level.

Then I saw the bench grinder...duhh!

Got some other grinding done as well as notching the girders and rim joists to be bent to a point at the front of the trailer.

 Double checking my angle.
 HULKeenan! HUHHHHH!!!
Unfortunately, I double checked for the incorrect angle.  Obviously this is way too far bent.  Luckily It was going to get a big 6" x 12" gusset in there anyways so I haven't really lost much strength.

I also got the surfaces prepped for the coupler.

And then prepped the ends of the girder braces.

Clamping them together made it super easy to just run right across the ends of all of 'em and kept them from sliding around.
But I still had to work on them individually to get the bits between.  Ground some extra on the lower side that will be welded to the lower girder flange.

Ate some dinner and even had a nice Fat Tire beer and then decided to lay down some practice beads with the welder.  Well at least I thought I was done with circuit boards for the day.  I had this welder working fine back in May and had it kept under storage since then.  When I tried to get an arc I got the tiniest spark that wouldn't even make my auto darkening lens change.  So, naturally, I started removing screws...

I looked at the circuit board as I am so apt to do now, and found some corrosion between two points and got a resistance reading of about 5meg ohms, after brushing off the whole board it was reading 15meg ohms, so I thought that was surely the problem.  I went ahead and busted out the solder station and reflowed all the solder on the board.  Then I checked continuity and voltage from the transformer and to the ground clamp and welding gun and everything seemed good.

Still no arc though.  I switched back to the wire I had used back in the spring since that was the only thing I had changed besides the tip, but of course that made no difference.  I finally resolved to just come write it up here and call around in the morning to see if a friend will let me borrow a welder for a week.  Hope to be running some serious beads tomorrow!
